MUN is not only for them who want to enhance their speaking skill but for them who want to be the leaders in the world.  You do not only have to speak but lead as well as you have to lead yourself, you have to lead the team that trusts you.

Even if you are already a leader, you still need a new experience to develop your skills. As Frank Herbert said,

“Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must be awakened.”.

And MUN is one of new experience that you should definitely try to sharpen your leadership skills. Here is the story from one of our delegates, Raia Regina, who has felt how her leadership skills growth after the conference.

My name is Raia Regina, and as a student leader, and an incoming university student, I have been looking for opportunities to enhance my leadership skills. As a first-timer in MUN, I was curious about what AWMUN was, but when I found out that I’d get to meet a lot of people from different nations, I was hooked!

I have always loved the idea of getting to know people from different races and I have always wanted to be immersed in a diverse setting. AWMUN was the perfect avenue for me as it is catered to my public speaking skills and my growing love for people, awareness and current events.

One of my favorite moments in AWMUN II was the forming of blocs and the collaboration of making a working paper. As a student leader myself, I am very much fascinated by how MUN works and how it sharpened my leadership skills.

By the end of the session, I was wanting more but unfortunately, it ended pretty quick. I was happy to be immersed in a diverse group of people in a collaborative setting towards the betterment of the world. The memories I’ve had from this event will surely be treasured.

The best part of my AWMUN trip was that I made friends with a lot of people from different nations. I had the chance to talk to people with the same interests but different culture. Again, AWMUN was an incredible place that gathered a lot of nations in one place.

The food was amazing! I had a great time eating the food because the cuisine was numerous and it is as if the food served was unlimited! I had fun picking out food that I have not tried yet. The food was 10/10.

The third night was the most incredible night. I also loved the cultural night. I had goosebumps while witnessing different nations come together and dance proudly with their fellow countrymen. I loved seeing different people wear their own national costumes proudly. It made me realize that even we are from different places, we are one as a global community.

It was prestigious, attending a global event where you can meet a lot of people from other countries. Different culture, religion, but we have the same mission; against climate change and make the world a better place.
