UNESCO: Preventing and Combating Violent Extremism in Developing Countries
Extremism is one of the root causes for violent movement activities that occur in several countries. The number of violence caused by the extremism movement has increased sharply, especially in European countries. This extremist ideology evolves due to threat driven by distorted interpretation of culture, hatred, and ignorance. In the last few decades, the emergence of extremist groups in the world has triggered an increase in cases of violence. This phenomenon creates fear in the society and threatens national and regional security. Because of the increasing number of cases itself, several countries have to take the necessary steps to prevent the future threats by extremist groups and violence activities.
