Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
Topic : Future of ASEAN: China’s One Belt Road Initiative
China’s One Belt Road initiative holds a crucial role in bridging ASEAN and China, two of the world’s most dynamic economies. This project has the potential to bring the ASEAN countries closer to one another, facilitating better access to trade, investment, and tourism and people-to-people exchanges. Yet, the road initiative raises concerns for the ASEAN states, one, in particular, is that China may make use of economic incentives to lead ASEAN states into broader cooperation with itself. The ASEAN states here have to decide on strict enforcement of policies, analysis of risks and so on to ensure there is no threat to the regional body’s unit.
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)
Topic : Discussing the Roles of Member States and the OIC in Response to the Ongoing Refugee Crisis.
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation was created to “safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony”. Time and time again, certain countries have been criticised for not taking immediate action in response to the ongoing refugee crisis in particular countries from the OIC. Here the OIC will discuss their position of their individual states in response to the refugee crisis and come up with a potential solution to save humanity.
In 2035, the world suffers from a severe energy crisis. Oil, the blood of industry and driving force of economic development has met its limit. Triggering major economic backslash and halting 60% of the world economy. To make things worse, the United Nations Security Council fails to maintain international peace and security, as its permanent members start armed mobilization and occupy several states to secure what is left from its natural resources. What is left is the United Nations Emergency Special Session General Assembly to collectively decide the best course for humankind and guide the world in their darkest hour.
