SECRETARY GENERAL
MANUEL CAMPOS
Manuel Campos' career is mainly focused on the field of diplomacy and international relations. This year he graduated from “Global Studies” at the Pompeu Fabra University and now he is studying a master in International Governance and Diplomacy at SciencesPo Paris. During the second half of 2022, Manuel had the opportunity to study a semester at Yale-NUS Singapore.
During the last three years he has been able to combine his academic training with solid professional experience through different professional practices in various countries. Between 2021 and 2022, he worked for nine months at the Uruguayan Consulate in Barcelona. During the spring of 2023 he moved to Estonia to work at Hispaania Maja, a Spanish company in Estonia in charge of promoting the Spain Brand in the small Baltic country.
During last summer, he was selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to do an internship at the Spanish Embassy in Amman, Jordan. There, he had the opportunity to work in the political section of the representation, participating in high-level meetings with diplomats from around the world and closely monitoring the human rights situation and stability in the region. Manuel is also a freelance journalist currently working for The Political Room. For the last two years, he has worked as a “correspondent” writing articles from various countries such as Brunei, Gambia and Laos and have entered high-risk areas such as Western Sahara, Ukraine (during the war), the Fergana Valley (Uzbekistan), northern Kosovo and refugee camps in Lebanon. His reports and articles “on the ground” have been accompanied by short audiovisual reports about his experience and the topics discussed in the articles, including interviews with local people involved and other actors involved in the issues I address.
The success of these articles has allowed me to participate in different interviews with renowned figures in Spain such as Yago Rodríguez, the creator of one of the most important analyses in the world of defense and international affairs in Spain. Manuel has actively participated in MUNs since 2020, taking him to different places around the world such as Ljubljana, Sharm el Sheikh and Maastricht, Paris and Barcelona both as a delegate and as a chair, where he has been able to put into play his abilities in numerous security affairs in committees such as NATO, the European Union, WTO and the Security Council.
